Today In Black History
On this day in 1942 Reginald F. Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Lewis would go on to become one of the biggest businessmen in the world white or black. He received his A.B. from Virginia State College in 1965 and a law degree from Harvard Law School in 1968. He was a partner in Murphy, Thorpe & Lewis, the first Black law firm on Wall Street. In 1989, he became president and CEO of TLC Beatrice International Food Co. then the largest African-American owned business in the United States.
