President Obama and first lady Michelle arrived in Norway today to accept the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009. This comes on the heels of the president announcing he was sending 30000 additional American troops to Afghanistan. At the ceremony, Obama will accept a $1.4 million prize check, a gold medal and a diploma. President Obama who is currently still fighting wars in two countries, should use this opportunity in my opinion to denounce those wars. I feel when he ends those wars and brings peace to both of those nations this award will be fitting. Until then we shall wait and see how peaceful this administration will truly be.
