On this date in 1915 Xaiver University opened in New Orleans LA. This university is the first and only Black Catholic College in US. Xaiver is a premier university and is known for producing the top African-American students in the sciences. Xavier regularly ranks first in the nation in placing African American students into medical school as well as first in awarding African Americans baccalaureate degrees in the physical sciences, the biological/life sciences, and physics.
