On this date in 1865 Paul Bogle lead a successful protest march to the Morant Bay Courthouse against the Colonial British rule and slavery in Jamaica. He would go on to be captured on October 24 and executed by the British. Years after his death he became a National hero in Jamaica for his actions against the British and fight for home rule.
