Today In Black History...

On this date in 1962 Edith Spurlock Sampson was sworn in as the first black female judge. Sampson would go on to be the first black U.S. delegate appointed to the United Nations.


On this date in 1970 Jennifer Josephine Hosten became the first black Miss Universe. Hosten who was 22 of when she won the contest, represented the small country of Grenada.
