Happy Birthday George Weah

George Tawlon Manneh Oppong Ousman Weah was born in the Clara Town part of Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. Weah has gone on to become arguably the greatest African soccer player ever. Weah is the only African soccer player to be named World Best Player, a title which he held in 1995 along with European Player of the year and African Player of the year. Weah was voted the African player of the Century by sport journalists from all around the world. George Weah is also known for his humanitarianism. He was a devoted humanitarian to Liberia during its civil war. For his efforts he won the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2004 ESPY Awards. Weah also ran to become the president of Liberia but lost to Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.
