Today In Black History: Ralph J. Bunche

On this date in 1950 Ralph Johnson Bunche became the first Black person awarded a Nobel Peace Prize. Dr. Bunche was the UN's chief mediator at the time and was crucial in the Arab-Israeli conflict and helping reach the 1949 Armistice Agreements. Bunche also chaired the Department of Political Science at Howard University from 1928 until 1950.
