The First To Admit Blacks Into College
Oberlin College was established on this date in 1833 by Presbyterian ministers, and is home to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Oberlin College which is in Oberlin, Ohio has the distinction as the first college in the United States to regularly admit African-American students in1835.
